Jwellery Design Workshop

Improving Employability Through Jwellery Design

At Brahmanda Educational Foundation, 5 days Handcrafted Jewellery Design Workshop was conducted in 5-9 October 2024 to empower local women and school students by equipping them with creative and marketable skills of jwellery crafting. The initiative aimed to foster employability and entrepreneurship through hands-on training in jewellery making, focusing on traditional and contemporary design techniques using locally available materials.

Participants were introduced to the basics of jewellery design, material selection, beadwork, wire techniques, hand weaving, and finishing methods. Emphasis was placed on innovation, aesthetics, and cultural relevance, allowing learners to create unique, personalized ornaments. The workshop also included sessions on pricing, packaging, and marketing strategies, helping participants understand how to turn their skills into income-generating ventures.

The event received an enthusiastic response, with over 50 women and students actively engaging in the creative process. Trainers from the design and craft industry provided guidance and mentorship throughout the sessions. The initiative not only enhanced participants’ artistic abilities but also boosted their confidence and entrepreneurial outlook.

By promoting local craftsmanship and self-reliance, the workshop contributed meaningfully to skill development and economic sustainability, aligning with broader goals of inclusive growth, women’s empowerment, and youth capacity building. Plans are underway to offer advanced modules and support for setting up micro-enterprises.
